Checking in with 2011 Alpinestars Bronze Boot winner Taylor Arsenault

– Posted in: Announcements Uncategorized

Taylor Arsenault was the 2011 Alpinestars Bronze Boot winner.

The Alpinestars Bronze Boot is the most coveted and prestigious award a Canadian amateur racer can win. To earn the award, a rider has to be on top of their game in all their motos, make fewer mistakes than their competition, and emerge as the best all-around amateur rider for the week of the Parts Canada TransCan. It’s not an easy feat, with three motos in each class and the best competitors in Canada, adding your name to the Bronze Boot list is a career accomplishment.

In 2011, Ontario rider Taylor Arsenault joined an impressive list of previous winners on his very first visit to the TransCan. We caught up with Arsenault, in between teaching riding schools at Sand Del Lee, to ask how it felt to win the Bronze Boot and find out about his 2012 season heading to the TransCan.

Tell us about your week at the TransCan in 2011?
Arsenault: The TransCan was definitely one of the best weeks of my life. It was just a blast racing against all of the top riders in Canada

How did it feel to find out you’d won the Bronze Boot?
It felt great knowing my name was going onto the list of riders that have been very successful in this sport. It was also great being on a list with many of the top riders in Canada as well as the United States.

What is your favourite thing about racing at Walton?
My favorite thing is definitely coming off the track and being on the podium. It’s an amazing feeling—knowing that I tried my best and was well prepared for the biggest race of the year for me.

How has your 2012 season been going?
My 2012 season started off slow but now I’m starting to get my groove back. I just had too much pressure on me at the beginning of the year but now I realize I go faster when I’m having fun.

Are you racing Walton this year?
Yes I will be attending Walton in MX2, MX3, and MX1 intermediate.

What are your goals for the TransCan?
My goals are to come top three and to be consistent like I did last year and hopefully have as much fun as I did last year.

What are your goals for your career?
My ultimate goal is definitely to become one of the top pros in Canada and that is what I’m striving for. To make that happen, my goal is to have help behind me so that my equipment is running the best it can.

What’s your best Walton memory?
Well I have only been to Walton once and that was last year but I had an amazing time there, it’s one of my favorite tracks for sure. But I had a lot of good memories last year with my family and friends.

Who would you like to thank for helping you out?
I’d like to thank Jolt Lifestyle, Wheelsport, EKS Brand Goggles, my Mom, my Dad and my brother.
