FACILITY RULE ADDITIONS FOR THE 2023 WALTON TRANSCAN GNC. ALL FACILITY RULES LISTED ON THIS PAGE CONTINUE TO APPLY.

GOLF CARTS
Golf Carts may be used by PERMIT ONLY and are limited to a maximum width of 64 inches. No pit bikes, mopeds, scooters, mules, ATVs, 6-wheel Gators, Razors or high-performance vehicles are permitted, as determined by the sole discretion of Walton Raceway. All bicycles MUST have pedals - if your bicycle does not have pedals, it is a pit bike, and they are prohibited. This includes Surrons. Golf Cart Passes must be purchased upon entrance to the facility when you check in. The cost is $100. Only racers are eligible for Golf Cart Passes. Day Spectators are not eligible for Golf Cart Passes.

GARBAGE

Garbage collection will occur daily; please set your garbage bags at the edge of your site. All garbage must be contained in a garbage bag, and cardboard must be broken down.
- No tires
- No gas for fuel canisters
- No glass
- No furniture

REFUNDS
There are no refunds after August 5th unless you are on Standby and a gate position is unavailable. All refund requests received prior to this date are being processed today. All refund requests after August 5th will not be responded to.

RV PUMP-OUTS
There will be RV pump outs like usual at the gatehouse signup on Wednesday and Thursday for pump outs on Thursday and Friday. This is $60 cash only and they will have their own separate table set up in the gatehouse!

WATER
The water truck will be on-site starting on Tuesday; 45 Gallon/200 Litres is $10. 265 Gallons/ 1000 Litres is $20. Campers start at $30 and increase with the tank size.

The people running the truck are named Sam and Derek. Please be polite and acknowledge that there is only one water truck on the whole facility that is travelling through the pits.

The gravity tanks at the entrance to the facility will not be filled after Tuesday, and once they are empty, the water truck can be booked for tank filling.

BEFORE ARRIVAL:

Please read all rules before your first trip to Walton Raceway.

Please fill out waiver forms located on our website before your first trip of the year to Walton Raceway. Please click here if you are looking for the Walton TransCan participant waivers.

A legal guardian must complete minor waiver forms.

Spectators and/or participants on the property assume all risks and injuries or damages resulting from therefrom.

DAILY RULES:

  • All guests must stop and check in at our Gate House upon arrival.

  • Every guest riding or participating in an event at Walton Raceway must have completed a waiver form, paid and checked in at our Gate House before parking and riding.

  • If a guest begins to ride without checking in/paying at our Gate House, the result will be a minimum $200 fine. This includes golf cart drivers who need to be checked in.

  • We have a speed limit of 15 km/h in our pit area and parking fields. This rule is for all vehicles, dirt bikes, e-bicycles, e-bikes, and Side by Sides. Our pit area can be very busy with pedestrians and children.

  • We do not allow machines to be running outside of riding hours. If the track opens at 11 am, start your bike or ride your bike to the course at exactly 11 am. No riding after riding hours has ended.

  • Proper riding gear is required. Wearing a proper full-face off-road helmet, over-the-ankle boots, eye protection, long sleeves and pants is mandatory.

  • Additional recommended safety gear are as follows: chest protector, neck brace, mouth guard, knee guards and elbow guards.

  • Helmets are required on all machines at all times. This includes riding in the pits to the track.

  • The bicycle track is only designed for Stacyc’s, bicycles and E-bicycles. No other machines are permitted to use this track.

  • Enter and exit the track at the designated entry point.

  • Do not at any point cut the track when riding. Follow the full course and do not alter it.

  • Ensure you ride the correct practice track session for your model size and skill level. If you are unsure which session you can ride, always check with our staff.

  • No double riding.

  • The use of drugs and alcohol is not permitted before or during riding at Walton Raceway.

  • Riders are under the obligation to know their surroundings. Check the track and pits for obstacles. Watch for hidden rocks, stumps, holes, fallen trees, branches, etc.

  • Do not dump any oil on the ground. The result of draining your oil on the ground is a $2,000 fine.

  • Clean up after yourself before leaving; please use our trash cans. Do not bring garbage from home to put in our trash disposal cans.

  • Swimming is permitted in the pond at the Gate House. However, all minors must always be accompanied by an adult (18+). You are assuming your own risk by swimming in our pond.

  • We ask that all guests use common sense and express courtesy toward their fellow racers and the staff of Walton Raceway.

  • We strongly encourage you to come riding with a friend and not ride alone.

POND:

The natural pond located at the Gatehouse is UNSUPERVISED. All minors must be accompanied by an adult who will take the time to supervise their actions.

Hours of Operation: 8:00 am - 9:00 pm

PROHIBITED ACTIVITIES AT THE POND:

  • Diving, the max depth is 8ft. DO NOT DIVE.

  • Climbing on the waterfall.

  • Jumping off of the waterfall.

  • Being rude to our staff when they have to supervise your children because you are too busy not parenting.

  • Ignoring the rules.

  • Asking us if the rules are real.

  • General ignorance.

BICYCLES, E-BICYCLES, E-BIKES, AND SCOOTERS

BICYCLES:

  • All bicycle riders under 18 must always wear a helmet when riding a bicycle.

  • Bicycles can use the bush trails and bicycle tracks when they are open, but not any the main or pee wee tracks.

  • All speed limits are in effect for E-bikes with a max of 15 km/h in the pits.

  • Wristbands and payment are NOT required for bicycle riders.

  • Please check with our staff if you need more clarification on our rules and guidelines.

E-BICYCLES:

  • E-bicycles are defined as bicycles with battery-powered pedal assist. No throttle

  • All E-bicycle riders under 18 must always wear a helmet when riding an E-bicycle.

  • E-bicycles can use the bush trails and bicycle tracks when they are open, but not any the main or pee wee tracks.

  • E-bicycles may be ridden in the pits after hours but must be off the trails and bicycle track by dusk.

  • All speed limits are in effect for E-bikes with a max of 15 km/h in the pits.

  • Wristbands and payment are NOT required for E-bicycle riders.

  • Please check with our staff if you need more clarification on our rules and guidelines.

E-BIKES:

  • E-Bikes are defined as battery-powered bikes that have a throttle. This includes throttle battery-powered bikes with pedals.

  • All E-bike riders must wear a helmet at all times when riding an E-bike

  • E-bikes may only be ridden inside designated riding hours.

  • All speed limits are in effect for E-bikes with a max of 15 km/h in the pits.

  • Wristbands and payment ARE required for E-bike riders.

  • Please check with our staff if you need more clarification on our rules and guidelines.

STACYC:

  • All Stacyc riders must always wear a helmet when riding a Stacyc.

  • Stacyc's may only be ridden inside designated riding hours.

  • Stacyc’s may use the Stacyc and bicycle tracks.

  • Stacycs are not allowed to be used as pit vehicles.

  • Wristbands and payment ARE required for Stacyc riders on the Pee Wee track.

STAND-UP SCOOTERS:

  • Stand-up scooters are permitted at Walton Raceway.

  • Drivers under 18 must wear a helmet.

  • Scooters may only be used in the pits and must be parked at dusk.

  • All speed limits are in effect for stand-up scooters with a max of 15 km/h in the pits.

  • Wristbands and payment are NOT required for stand-up scooter riders.

  • Please check with our staff if you need more clarification on our rules and guidelines.

PIT VEHICLES:

  • Using your motorcycle, E-bike, SXS or ATV as a pit vehicle at Walton Raceway is prohibited, NO EXCEPTIONS.

  • GOLF CARTS are permitted with the following rules being abided to:

  • You must sign in and pay $30 + HST to use your golf cart before driving it.

  • You must pay per driver, (Each paid driver will receive a wristband that goes on their wrist and not on the cart)

  • You must be at least 18 and have a valid driver's licence to drive a golf cart at Walton Raceway.

  • At most, your maximum number of passengers can be the number of seats in your golf cart.

  • Golf carts are not permitted after dark.

  • ATVs and Sides by sides are not considered Golf Carts and cannot be used as pit vehicles.

    The actions of racers, families and guests this June will determine whether or not Golf Carts, E-Bicycles, E-Bikes, Stand-Up Scooters and Stacycs will be permitted at the 2023 TransCan.

CAMPING RULES:

  • Overnight parking (camping) is permitted at Walton Raceway.

  • Every vehicle that parks overnight at Walton Raceway must purchase a $30 camping tag before your overnight stay.

  • Our serviced campsite area beside the bicycle park is for weekend reservations only (no single-night stays).

  • Campfires are allowed but must be in a raised fire pit which you must provide. You are responsible for extinguishing & cleaning up the pit area.

  • Before lighting your campfire, check with staff to confirm no fire ban.

  • All noise levels are minimal after 11 pm, We allow inverters to run all night, but if you are using a loud generator, you will be asked to turn it off at 11 pm.

  • Please check ahead for gate closing times; we do not allow overnight guests to arrive after hours.

EVENT RULES:

During events, all guests must follow our Walton Raceway rule guide and the additional rules by event coordinators.

GENERAL INFORMATION:

NON-POTABLE WATER: Non-potable water is available via a hose at the entrance to the facility (look for the big raised tanks between the portable washrooms and the black shower building).

POTABLE WATER: Blyth has a freshwater fill station across from the Blyth Arena in front of Lions Park. The address to the arena is 377 Gypsy Ln, Blyth, and Blyth is an approximately 10-minute drive to the northwest. There is also a dump station at this site.

FIREWOOD: Firewood is not available for sale.

GARBAGE:  Take out what you bring in; garbage collection is unavailable as our municipal landfill is at reduced capacity.

EDGE OF WALTON CHALLENGE COURSE:  Any persons found to be vandalizing and/or damaging the course will be fined CAD 500.00 plus the cost to repair the damages and evicted from the property immediately and permanently.

PROPERTY LIMITS: Our property is limited to the north side of Walton Road only. We do not own the quarry/gravel pit to the south of Walton Road, and if you enter that property, you are leaving Walton Raceway and crossing into private property with NO TRESPASSING signs posted. The OPP has been patrolling the gravel pit and will issue trespassing charges to anyone in breach of the private property fence line.
