WALTON, ON, January 13 2022 - Huber Motorsport Step back from Pro motocross.
Huber Motorsports, the representatives for the Canadian Kawasaki Motors (CKM) motocross race team, has made the difficult decision to step back from professional motocross racing and proudly pass on the legacy to Walton Raceway.
“We jumped into professional motocross in 2017 being a privateer team, growing to become a factory-supported team in 2018 representing Canadian Kawasaki Motors, one of the top brands in the world,“ said team founder Gerhart Huber. “There have been a lot of long hours building the motocross team, and I would like to thank everyone behind the scenes that made that happen. In the truest form, it was a team effort. I thank you.”
The Huber Motorsports family, including son Christian who recently became a full-time firefighter for Kitchener Fire Department, and grandkids, have grown up surrounded by racing and do not plan to step away from their racing passion. “We will still be at the race track but focusing on the amateur class with my two grandsons,” said Gerhart with a smile. “We are a family that loves going to the races, and we are proud to continue to support the Kawasaki team, this amazing brand and sport.”
The team will relocate to Walton, Ontario, and the legendary Walton Raceway facility. “We are very excited,” said Brett Lee of Walton Raceway and now new team principal with Walton Kawasaki Racing. “The team Gerhart, Christian and their families have created is remarkable. It was their hard work and their vision that has not only shaped the team but helped shape Canadian motocross. Many of us owe them gratitude, including me, for what they have done for racing in Canada.”
Plans surrounding the Walton Kawasaki team, Jetwerx’s 2023 Canadian National Triple Crown Series, key staff appointments, athletes and new team sponsors will be announced in the coming weeks by Walton Raceway.
